What's in a name?
Terra Australis ('Southern Land') was the Latin term historically used by European cartographers for many centuries to refer to a hypothetical, massive continent believed to exist in the Southern Hemisphere to 'balance' the landmasses of Eurasia, Africa, and the Americas.
